Day 37: My Hidden Treasure..
When I got my first DSLR my dad (who use to work for Nikon) gave me a bunch of older Nikon lenses. Since they were all manual focus I wasn’t exactly too interested in using them for daily shooting. So i kept them in my bag for days that I felt especially artistic and patient. Yesterday was one of those days…
I whipped out my Nikon 50mm f1.4 AIS lens. I shot a bunch of things around my room and quickly realized that at fully open this lens was was like looking though old goggles in a marsh pond… So I stopped it down.. and then stopped it down more. I finally shot at f16 and WOW is this lens ever SHARP! After a few more photos with the same results I was sure surprised; this lens was one of the sharpest lenses I have ever used! I’m so happy to have finally found this secret weapon! Here are a few test shots. Ill upload more tomorrow.
